Intro

Now I’m not one to brag, but this right here? This is a proper Texas burger-plain and simple. Juicy, seasoned Wagyu Ground Beef from our very own Phelan Farms, toasted buns, melted cheddar, and all the fixin’s if you like. Whether it’s Friday night or just lunchtime at the ranch, Blue’s Classic Cheeseburger always hits the spot.

Directions

  • Form the wagyu ground beef into 4 thick patties. Don’t overwork the meat- treat it gentle, like your granddad’s truck. Or you can make this a little easier and use our pre-made patties.
  • Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  • Heat a cast iron skillet or grill to medium-high. Add oil/tallow, then the patties. Sear for 3–4 minutes per side.
  • Top with cheese right after the flip, and cover for a minute to melt.
  • Toast the buns face-down on the grill or skillet.
  • Build your burger just how you like it. Around here, we keep it classic—but you do you.
  • Serve hot, with a cold drink and a smile.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs Phelan Farms Wagyu Ground Beef
  • 4 brioche or potato buns
  • 4 slices sharp cheddar cheese
  • Salt and black pepper
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil or beef tallow
  • Lettuce, tomato, pickles, red onion (optional but encouraged)
  • Mayo, mustard, ketchup (whatever tickles your fancy)
